A Grand Cru Vineyard wine.....for under £18!? EXTRAORDINARY STUFF! What Grog is all about..

Grand Cru is the name given to the top 2% of the total area of Champagne vineyards. The next lower level is premier cru (10% of the total area in Champagne). "Normal quality" accounts for the remaining 88%.

75% Chardonnay (From his Grand Cru vineyard in Chouilly) & 25% Pinot Noir (from his Grand cru vineyard in Ay). Fine, light, elegant, essential drinking!! BLOWS ANY BRANDED CHAMPAGNE OUT OF THE WATER...(have I raved enough?)

It spends 4 Years "on Lees" maturing quietly in his cellar prior to release. It is amazing wine.

Cuvee des Crayeres is a 100% Chardonnay de Chouilly (a Blanc de Blanc from the Cote de Blancs which is not the easiest thing to say after a bottle or 2). Their vintage wine produced in great years. This wine is six years old & is just starting to open up its flavours now, it will cellar for decades too. It is remarkably cheap, don't tell him though or the price might go up!

100% Pinot Noir from a tiny vineyard 0.5 Hectare!) in Hautvillers. Strawberry fruit flavours, totally delicious.
