Monsieur (Fernando) Castilla certainly knows how to make pudding wine. This is one of the finest I have tried in 17 years of flogging them. It is ultimately dense & concentrated; smells & tastes of Christmas personified in a glass. It is based on a forty (40!) year old Solera (hence Antique PX) & delivers a dark brown, liquid hit of flavour that you have never tasted before. Treat like an extraordinarily good liquer, a small gloop is all that you will need to muse upon for quite some time. Price: £18.99
This is Champagne grapes, harvested, partially-fermented, then fortified with Brandy (also made from Champagne Grapes). Tastes a bit like Pineau de Charentes (if you've had that) or a bit like Grapey White Port (only better!).
