Paul Cluver Seven Flags Pinot Noir 2006 14% Alc (Red) **VERY LIMITED**The best Pinot Our beloved Richard has EVER tasted, including Bouchard Finlayson's famous Tete de Cuvee and all the great Burgundy!!!! Cluver's own tasting note: "This is classic Pinot noir. The nose is intriguing; first a whiff of soft dark cherries, then hints of spice. After a while, the earthy mushroom notes come through and then, finally, the perfumed oak spiciness. The palate is focused, well structured not only by tannin but also by balanced acidity. All that flavour comes though to the palate in different stages, resulting in a truly complex wine that will age perfectly for years to come." Perhaps the greatest attribute of the wine is its finess" CHRISTIAN EEDES; Wine Magazine; March 2008 "Cluver's Seven Flags is not as "grippy" as the Walker Bay competition, nor as tightly structured as a comparably priced premier cru from the Cote de Beaune. But for sheer "sexiness" it leads the field by a distance greater than the proverbial country mile." MICHAEL FRIDJHON; Business Day, 23 April 2008
