The stunning boutique cellar is located in the Wemmershoek Mountain‘s foothills, amongst the fynbos and fauna of Franschhoek Wetlands and placed around our manicured gardens are our topiary masterpieces. The winery can process 64 tons of grapes utilising a sophisticated sorting line. Grapes are sorted and destemmed before a satellite tank transfers them to stainless steel fermentation tanks via a gravity pulley system. After fermentation wines are matured in French oak barrels for a minimum of 1 year. Enjoy a wine tasting on the spacious patio overlooking the topiary plants and stunning views of three mountain ranges.
Topiary’s vineyards are also state of the art with drip irrigation, high density planting and virus free plant material. The 20 hectares consist of 10Ha Shiraz, 8Ha Cabernet and a widely acclaimed Chardonnay vineyard above the cellar on some of the rockiest and poorest soils on the farm which give extremely small and concentrated berries.
