Created by the hand of charismatic Cape winemaker, Adi Badenhorst, The Curator has been fashioned from very old unirrigated bush vines and showcase the quality achievable in one of South Africa’s most innovative and dynamic wine growing regions – Swartland. Adi, is one of the pioneers of this region which is rapidly becoming one of the most on-trend and desirable in the southern hemisphere. A raft of eager and talented young winemakers, ancient vines, a Mediterranean climate more akin to the Rhône Valley in southern France and an overwhelming desire to push the fruits of their labour into the world market are offering consumers some of the most individual and eclectic wines available from the New World.
Adi; former winemaker for Rustenberg Estate in Stellenbosch, is the face (and beard!) of Swartland. Such is Adi’s belief in minimal intervention and handling during the winemaking process, it should come as no surprise that includes no use of chemicals and minimal use of sulphur.
