SPEYSIDE: Built in 1898 and revived in 1993 by the Urquhart family (Gordon & Macphail), it is situated just outside Forres. We had a tasting of the 10yo, 15yo and the Organic and the Organic was the stand out by far for me. Start to finish and matured in virgin American oak giving a nose of sweet vanilla, ripe fruits and citrus zest. Toasted malts leads to green apple. The palate is creamy with soft pepper and butterscotch. Freshly ground coffee develops alongside dried banana and a subtle herbal edge.
