A world class (no really, WORLD CLASS!!) naturally fermented wine made in clay amphora. Intense and complex and described by Catherine herself as ‘peaches on a wet stone’ with additions of ripe pear, nectarine and summer white flowers enveloped by a richness from partial oak ageing for 9 months.

Catherine Marshall

Cathy is a creative force of nature and an uber talented wine maker.
Having studied viticulture at the renowned Elsenberg agricultural college in Stellenbosch (she was one of only 2 women in her year), she worked for some very well-known SA producers as well as travelling abroad to hone her wine making skills before returning home to start up on her own. She was one of the very first ‘Garigiste’ wine makers in South Africa and from a humble first vintage in 1997 of just three barrels of Syrah she now produces award winning wines that all have a real sense of place and huge character.
Her incredible knowledge and experience coupled with meticulous skills as a wine maker have won her admiration all over the world particularly for her Pinot Noirs which highlight her precision and finesse.
