PAUILLAC: Big powerful from the left bank village of Pauillac, Chateau Batailley is a prestigious 5th Grand Cru Classé estate located in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux. The 2017 vintage is a blend of 80% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot. The estate’s name is derived from the word bataille (battle), commemorating a skirmish fought on its grounds in 1453 during the Hundred Years’ War. Juicy and fresh wine with some wilder notes, round tannin, long length and some graphite notes.
