BORDEAUX. Lovely example of an everyday claret has great depth of colour and good juicy cassis fruits, plums and cherries. Easy going drinker that is made for mellow casseroles.
Chateau Malbat has been owned by the Rochet family for 6 generations since 1865 (old, but 10 years after the 1855 classification!). Predominantly Merlot with a touch of Cab Sauv, the grapes are sourced from holdings in the Southern Gironde at make Bordeaux & Bordeaux Superior wines. Unsurprisingly considering this, you will find Malbat on the right bank of the Garonne.
