Description
Silky and elegant Fleurie, crushed berry fruit, morello cherries and dark chocolate, a wee bit like black forest gateaux.
Arenite is the pink-tinged soil that dominate the Fleurie vineyards.
Delicious chilled!
Cave de Fleurie, founded in 1927, has worked with many generations of its co-operative farmers across Beaujolais, including several vineyards it owns. In 1946, Margurite Chabert was the first woman (and only, allegedly) in France to be appointed the head of a wine co-operative. She led CDF for 40 years and was awarded the Legion D’Honneur for her efforts revitalising the Beaujolais region.
