Description
A seriously good French malbec from the deep South. Crushed blueberries, crème de cassis with a touch of parma violets. Red-fruits, cranberries cocoa nib. Try it with a good steak…
Malbec is originally from South West France, most famously in Cahors. French Malbec was widely planted across the region until the 1950s, when a severe winter killed many of the vines and they were replaced by more fashionable plantings. The Malbec mantle was then taken up by South Americans.
L’Aude Valley in Languedoc contains many of the leading PODs of the area, including Corbieres, Minervois and Limoux. Quite the collection!
