Description
Like merlot with knobs on. The Santa Alba Reserve Carmenere is rich, velvety plummy, dark and luscious with a dark chocolate bar finish. Blueberries, mulberries and aromatic spices mix with wild bramble fruits and a hint of smoked vanilla.
Santa Alba is produced by Vina Alto Roble, founded in 1993. ‘Alto Roble’ means tall oak tree, apropos of nothing. Winemaking is led by Eloisa Uribe, who has worked in wineries in Bordeaux and Napa Valley before settling in Chile in 2002.
