Description
BEAUJOLAIS. Morgon is the richer, heavier and more succulent Beaujolais brother of Fleurie et al. Morgon Domaine Puits is lavish with ripe berry fruit, black fruit, blackurrants and subtle spice. Brilliant with raclette.
Cave de Fleurie, founded in 1927, has worked with many generations of its co-operative farmers across Beaujolais, including several vineyards it owns. In 1946, Margurite Chabert was the first woman (and only, allegedly) in France to be appointed the head of a wine co-operative. She led CDF for 40 years and was awarded the Legion D’Honneur for her efforts revitalising the Beaujolais region.
