Description
This is outrageously good Pinot. The wine and the price – we reckon they must have got the price wrong. Not only does it taste of Pinot Noir, it ACTUALLY has quite a bit of flavour & structure. Cherries, wild berries and a note of cinnamon smoke, dark cherries covered in chocolate & vanilla ice cream. Tastes like medium-priced Burgundy (£20).
Santa Alba is produced by Vina Alto Roble, founded in 1993. ‘Alto Roble’ means tall oak tree, apropos of nothing. Winemaking is led by Eloisa Uribe, who has worked in wineries in Bordeaux and Napa Valley before settling in Chile in 2002.
