ISLE OF SKYE: Torabhaig Sound of Sleat is the 4th release in their Legacy series. A welcome new addition to the whisky scene, Torabhaig in Southern Skye have been wowing people with their mastery of smokey whisky production. Named after the Sound of Sleat, the community which houses the distillery, not the dreich weather which pounds the island for much of the year. As you’d expect, this is smokey and elegant, peated to 78ppm (phenol parts per million, how smoke/peatiness is measured in whisky) in production and aged only in American Oak. If you love smoke and innovation, then this is a good bet.
