VALPOLICELLA, ITALY: Valpolicella Ripasso is one of the great wine styles of Italy. Essentially a baby Amarone using partially dried out grapes. Deep ruby red, soft and full fruity bouquet with cherry sensation on the nose and palate. Slightly velvety.
Giuseppe Lonardi was born in a family from the ancient culinary traditions. Restaurateurs were the father and the grandfather of Giuseppe, “ Bepi’s”, the first to translate in business the passion for cooking and good food. A love for good food and good drinks that are then passed on from generation to generation, as well as the habit has been handed down in the family, call Giuseppe all the firstborn.Grew up among the cooking fumes and smells of the winery, the current Giuseppe (Bepi), has learned to appreciate the good things, those made good and prepared with old passion. It’s the same old passion that in 1984, thanks to the friend winemaker Roberto Ferrarini, began producing wine. Today the company has 7 hectares and produces wines that are well suited to the Classico area in Valpolicella.
Now, more and continuing the family tradition, the company has passed into the hands of his daughter Silvia Lonardi, who continues his father’s footsteps with dedication in search of new flavors that the land of the hills of Marano knows still offer.
