Description
Friday 14th August, 3pm, Pleasance Tasting Room
Irene Cleans Up, written and directed by Rebecca Taylor Al-Samaraie, follows Irene, a cleaner with an extraordinary palate for wine who unexpectedly finds herself navigating the elite world of sommeliers. At the heart of the story is Shiraz, the wine that becomes a catalyst for her journey into a world she never expected to enter.
To celebrate the production’s Fringe run, Great Grog will host two special tasting events on 13 and 14 August at 3pm in its Edinburgh tasting room.
The events will explore Shiraz wines featured within the themes of the production and include a discussion on the pathway to becoming a professional sommelier.
“Wine sits at the heart of Irene Cleans Up, but the play is really about perception, confidence and who we think belongs in certain worlds”
