Description
Lochlea Distillery Fringe Whisky Tasting – Thursday 13th August 6pm 61 Pleasance Edinburgh EH8 9QT
In the heart of Burns country South Ayrshire, Lochlea is that most old-school of whisky producers – a farm distillery. An agricultural business that happens to make whisky from its products – like the best grower-producer wineries – all the malt is grown and distilled on-site. This is historically how whisky was made, turning perishable crops into distillate that would survive longer and bring in much needed additional income. Rare these days, as a working farm distillery Lochlea is one of the few distilleries, like Daftmill and Kilchoman, that can claim complete authority and authenticity from grain to glass.
Lochlea’s Brand Ambassador Alex Ferrand will be leading the first of Great Grog’s Edinburgh Fringe whisky tastings of 2026. Tasting through the core range and expansive seasonal releases, Lochlea offer a fascinating insight into the past and future of Scotch Whisky.
