Lucy & Lizzie burst out with Closet in 2018 and are going from strength to strength. The two-woman operation has gone from brewing in their closet, kitchen and everywhere else in their flat to now having their own brewing space as part of the Stenroth Workers Cooperative nanobrewery in South Queensferry. They’ve managed this through their talent and beer quality alone plus word-of-mouth enthusiasm from admirers, without any magic bullet investment or the usual ‘I used to be a financier but then I got bored so opened a brewery/distillery/winery’ story typical of the trade. Unapologically queer, fiercely independent and absolutely uncompromising, they show that craft beer can and should be a platform for social change. ‘Drink good beer with good people’ – cheers to that!

Lucy will be in to show off some classics (Vampire Spa Day XPA is always terrific) and fresh brews as part of this tutored beer tasting. The way Closet are progessing, this will be an ‘I was there before they were massive’ moment.
